Take the A1 towards Torres Novas (exit near km 83), then the A23 towards Castelo Branco. Near Abrantes, follow Sardoal / Vila de Rei / Sertã. Bypass Sertã and join the IC8 towards Castelo Branco. After about 7 km, exit towards Vale do Pereiro (M538), following Picoto da Rainha / Ermida. After about 10.3 km, turn right at the sign for Castanheira, then descend about 2.5 km into the village.
Coming from the north
Follow the A1 and take the A13 at Coimbra, or exit at Pombal towards the IC8. On the IC8 towards Castelo Branco, about 3 km after the Sertã exit, take the Vale do Pereiro (M538) exit towards Picoto da Rainha / Ermida. Continue to the wind farm and follow the signs for Castanheira, down the road into the village.
